This is a rare film that earns its veneration. The Godfather is the ultimate tale of the passing of sin from father to son and the inescapable prison of history’s cyclic nature.

I must confess that I tried watching this film when I was a little too young and found it unbearably slow, but multiple rewatches since have disavowed me of such notions.
